Al has developed a creative approach to generate the necessary resources to make
a real impact on meeting the needs of Vancouver's least fortunate citizens. While
some positive steps have been taken recently, so much more needs to be done to effectively
address the tragedy of homelessness.
Rooted in his experience and understanding of the development process and city government,
Al will use appropriate development densities - in areas like Northeast False Creek,
Little Mountain, East Fraserlands and the Post Office - to leverage hundreds of
millions of dollars targeted to housing the homeless; financing non-market housing,
building childcare centres, community centres and new greenways. |
