Al worked in sales at Canada Cup, manufacturer of a variety of foam and paper
products for restaurants and businesses, for five years before being recruited by
the larger Smith Paper where he stayed for 10 years. When he started with Smith
Paper his new beat encompassed the Chinatown/Gastown area along with Little Italy
on Commercial Drive. Business owners served by Al realized a very special person
had come into their lives, far more than the typical salesman.
