In his years as a salesman, Al gradually learned more and more Chinese and, often found
himself talking with business owners about their problems with City Hall, how to
get things done and where to go to get their concerns addressed. A natural born
problem solver, Al soon became the "go to" person in resolving a wide range of pressing issues. The
Chinatown Merchants Association were so impressed with Al’s ability to get to the
heart of issues and find practical solutions that they made him Special Projects
Coordinator. More importantly to Al, they also gave him a special Chinese name
which, when translated means, “My Promise to You”. Al had shown, over and over again,
that a promise made is a promise kept. |
